Cycling in the Netherlands
|
Vast green meadows, purple heath, rolling woodland, lonely dunes and lively towns, you’ll find it all in the Netherlands. Boasting a wealth of lovely natural scenery and culturally interesting towns, Holland is a country that can and should be experienced actively, in the fresh air. How better than by bike? |
|
A bike holiday in the Netherlands is much more than simply taking a superficial look at the country. On your bike, you’ll find the country will roll right up to you. You’ll discover many of the Netherlands’ most special spots, from wind and water mills to old trading towns and picturesque villages. But also big cities such as Amsterdam, Utrecht, The Hague and Rotterdam are best explored by bike. Because on your bike you see, take in and experience more! |

Signposted Routes
Our cycling routes have been set out along the Netherlands’ best bike tracks. All routes are clearly signposted. You often cycle in a car-free area. This way, cycling is not only healthy and fun but also comfortable and safe. We of Dutch Bike Tours make use of two existing kinds of signposted routes: LF-Routes and Routes along Numbered Intersections. |
|
LF-Routes
LF bicycle routes are a national network of long-distance, often picturesque routes. The special signposts are easily distinguishable. LF-routes are ideal for cyclists who want to tour for more than one day.

Cycling By Numbers (Knooppuntenroutes)
These are regional networks of bike track intersections. A great many intersections have been assigned a number. Finding your way is easy: Just follow the signs from one numbered intersection to the next. We will provide you with a list of the numbers you need to follow.

Star Tours
Our "star” tours are for cyclists who prefer a comfortable homebase from which to explore the surroundings. Instead of staying at a different hotel every night, you will reside at the same familiar hotel for the duration of your holiday. Set off on a different tour every morning. Follow numbered signs for easy cycling. |
